Is there a good way to prevent acne without medicine?

acne
jerrri asked:

I’ve had acne problems since I was twelve, for eight years. I’m twenty now and its not nearly as bad as it once was but sometimes i have breakouts. I’ve been on every acne medication known to man, most of it worked to some extent but the majority of oral medications have dangerous side effects and I’m quite sick of the topical stuff, it makes my face so dry and I have heard it increases the risk of skin cancer.
So what can i do to get rid of this acne, Right now I’m just washing my face about four times a day and using clearasil cream every night, but its really messing up the skin on my face. I don’t have many acne problems when I use it, though. I’ve heard all the advice about acne like don’t touch your face, don’t eat greasy foods, etc. I’m doing all this stuff, but still having some problems. Is there a natural way to prevent this acne?

  • drink a lot of water, eat healthy foods, and keep your hands away from your face!! good luck =]

  • wash it every day then clean with alcohol

  • wash alot dont eat alot of junk amd you should be good!

  • eat right.. wash with noxema or something else that doesn’t dry the skin or make it sore or break out.

    drink more water…

lesser smoke if you smoke… relax… exercise.. remember, sweating sure is a great way to unclog those pores and always after you sweat.. rub the skin in a circular motion and then cleanse it.. and then dry it the same way with a gentle circular motion to remove embedded dirt and dead skin cells.

also breathing properly will help too…

clearasil cream chokes pores.. try something else like a oxy pad.. that isn’t a cream… and it’ll lift dirt not add more!

  • There are two good ways to get prevent acne without medicine!! One is drink a lot of water because that way you can hydrate your skin and relieve unwanted moisture(sweat) faster. Two, exercise so that way you sweat. When you sweat your pores open up and you wash away the dirt and oil, so drink all the water you want and then some and that should help. Might not always work but hey It works!!

  • okay heres from a guy growing up in the 60’s greasy food, lol etc etc…try using a good medicated soap, there are so many on the market now. what happens is your pores close up, so washing your face with soap and water and using a good astringent should help…good luck

  • You could try to find a good natural medicinal cure, or…use tape? It seems to suck the dirt right out of your face. ;)

  • When showering use a buff-puff to srubb your face.

  • I HAVE THAT PROBLEM TO AND I AM ONLY ELEVEN YEARS OLD> WHAT I RECOMMEND IS WHENEVER YOU HAVE A PIMPLE WHAT INTIL ITS READY TO POP THEN YOU POP IT IF THAT DOESNT WORK PUT TOOTHPASTE ON IT THAT WILL BURN IT AND IT WILL GO AWAY

  • it may be the fact that you are washing your face too much. 4 times a day is a little much, try only doing it twice it may help. also there are certain birth control pills that help prevent break outs, an option you may want to look into. and lastly, Mary Kay sells some pretty good acne stuff you may want to try.

  • Welp, here’s what worked for me. I’m drinking only water for this whole month. It’s really hard cause I really would like some soda sometimes! Anyways, drink loads of water so it can flush out your system. Then invest in cocoa butter cream to put on your face at night. And AVEENO facial wash is made with soy and is very natural. It also doesn’t over dry you face. Use cocoa butter, aveeno in the morning and nite, and Aveeno moisturizer too. These are all gentle on your face. Take the time and you will see the results! (Also, if you can stand it, go to an oriental shop and get a Aloe leaf. Cut it and drink the juice from it. It tastes NASTY, but it will clean out your system too!) Good luck!

  • I had pretty bad skin and I started using proactive, it worked Awesome! I’m 29 and always had bad skin up until about 6 months ago when I started using it, and now it looks really good, and feels really good too.
