I would like to find an acne treatment that actually works, but I’m on a tight budget. Are there any good home remedies? or cheap store options?

  • Hmm..
Well a few months ago, I used to put some shaving cream on my pimples. It has benzyol peroxide in it, so I guess it kills acne bacteria and dries it out. It actually worked for me! I wouldn’t put it all over your face though, it’ll dry your skin. I usually put it on before bed and then washed my face in the morning. Also, check out these sites. They have some interesting home remedies!

    Hope this helps.

  • Understanding your acne is an important first step to acne treatment.

Visiting a dermatologist may be a good option and may actually be cheaper in the long run

  • You’re smart to decide not to waste money on those products that swear they’ll clear up your acne. I’ve had so many friends that lost a lot of money just to get acne treatments that didn’t work and really hurt/burned when they applied them.

You might try a simple wash/scrub/generic med routine. Some of the generic treatments provide the same effect as the expensive stuff.

  • Cleansing the skin in natural acne treatments is usually done twice a day with a gentle cleanser. These cleansers can be soaps with lemon oil, olive oil, or almond oil. The lemon oil is known to be a great ingredient in the fight against acne as it has antibacterial properties. After cleansing one can tone the skin with apple cider vinegar, rosewater, or aloe. By using a toner before applying a moisturizer, one is sure to get rid of excess residue from the cleanser and other dirt and skin cells. A good toner also tightens the pores and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
