I am in my late 20’s now, and had acne when I was a teenager. The acne is gone, but I still have light scars on my face. I think I would look so much better without them. What is the best way to get rid of them?

  • Applying fresh lime juice and leaving it 3-4 hours can diminish scars.
Avoid sun and washing face with warm water, use only chilled water.

  • There are different types of acne scars, the red marks that are left behind or the impressed scars such as the holes or pit marks. The red marks can go away fairly easily with a few laser treatments (look up Intense Pulsed Light or Photo Rejuvenation). Find a dermatologist who does this or go they do this at laser hair removal centers also.

For other acne scars like holes or icepicks, I had skin from my earlobe used to fill the scars. Had this done by my dermatologist about 8 years ago along with the laser treatments (the laser required no downtime) and my skin looks beautiful I wondered why I waited so long to do this. The earlobe filler was considered a minor in office surgical so you would want to find a dermatological surgeon. Not all dermatologists are surgeons, so be sure to find one who is both.

    Hope this helps

  • Massage the scars with moisturiser as often as possible. Also try Bio-oil.

  • Hi,

The watery gel from Aloe Vera plant is a highly effective natural cure against Acne. The enzyme-rich gel has very soothing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can also be taken internally and helps clean up and detox the digestive tract. This in turn can help clear up the skin.

Apply Aloe Vera gel: Gel or juice of Aloe Vera is highly useful in fading of acne scars. You can grow Aloe Vera plant in your home and apply freshly taken pure Aloe Vera gel to your scar. Otherwise many branded cosmetic companies manufactures pure Aloe Vera gel, so you can choose the best cosmetic companies to get Aloe Vera gel.

Vitamin A is also a natural and effective Acne cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin.

Vitamin E also helps in countering Acne. It is a natural antioxidant and beneficial for the skin.

Tea Tree Oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree from Australia. It is very effective against Acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called Terpenes. Acne is often caused by bacteria and the Terpenes either outright kill them or weaken them enough to be destroyed by protective antibodies. There are very little side effects from using Tea Tree Oil.

  • I’m trying lemon juice (that actually helped eliminate my acne) and now youthful essence micro dermabrasion. I just got it this week, but I know other people that it has worked on them. I’m crossing my fingers. And it wasn’t expensive which is always a plus :) I also use whitch hazel and tea tree oil mixture to remove my makeup and clean my face. It’s wonderful and natural!

  • There really are no home remedies that will get rid of acne scars. I suggest you visit a dermatologist or plastic surgeon and find the various ways to improve them – dermabrasion, peels, lasers, injectable fillers. Explore the options, prices, pros and cons of all. In most cases the scars cannot be totally eradicated even with treatment, however marked improvement can be achieved.

  • Mederma works a little. This worked the best for me

  • I did a tca peel and the as a moisturizr i used borage oil from the pills. you can buy those at walmart and pop the pill and put on face also use cetaphil to wash your face

  • Well, when it comes to acne scars,u should include a scar serum in ur skincare regime since this could improve ur scar appearance by promoting healing and cell renewal.Plus,u could also use Vitamin E or Cocoa Butter since these really works wonders on acne scars. However,if u would like to opt for remedies,I would suggest different 4 steps that u could try at home to improve ur scars.

Baking Soda-Exfoliate your skin with baking soda. Often times, a version of baking soda is used in cosmetic microdermabrasion treatments. You can give yourself a mini microdermabrasion treatment by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with the two teaspoons of filtered water. Then gently rub the mixture on your acne scar for sixty seconds then rinse it off.

Fresh Fruits-In addition to eating fresh fruits to supply your skin with collagen building vitamin C, you can also smear them onto your face for gentle acid exfoliation. Just puree a forth a cup of pineapple and smooth it onto your face. Leave it for 10-15 minutes, then rinse. Since the pineapple contains ascorbic acid, it will impart a brightening effect on the face, and help fade acne marks.

Apple And Honey-Using a blender, make a mixture out of 1 peeled apple with 1 tablespoon of yogurt, half a cucumber and 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply on face, leave for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water.

Olive Oil-Massage a pea-sized amount of olive oil onto your face.Acne scaring can cause the skin to lose its elasticity and suppleness. The moisturizing nutrients in the olive oil will penetrate the skin to deeply moisturize the skin and soften the skin’s texture.

Well, these are those 4 remedies that works best for ur skin that impose no irritation to ur skin.Good luck trying these at home and pick one that suits u.Hope this helps and great skin wishes.

P/s:U could also opt to use a facial scrub once a week to gently exfoliate ur dead skin cells to improve skin complexion.Do try these remedies I suggest u.It work wonders on my skin and I’m sure it would do u the same.Hope this helps:-)
