Alysha G asked:

So I have acne on my forehead, and it’s those scattered little dots. I just started using clearisil, but what other methods of getting rid of acne are there?

  • I suggest you go to a dermatologist. They know better.

  • apply fresh paste of aloe gel

  • Pro-Active
Or Splash Your Face With Tea.

  • go to the dermatologist. if they offer you any overprice item don’t buy it because it is just like the ones on the shelves like at Walmart or Target

  • try to clean your face before bed then use an oil-free toner in the morning your blemishes should go down good luck

  • I think if you just try to get rid of them they eventually will come back. To prevent them make sure you’re not constipated a whole lot. I go to tennis courts and see these teenage boys and girls and I can’t seem to find acne on any of ‘em may be because their physical strenuous workout and them sweating so much cleans stuff away. What do I know, may be you need to go to dermatologist.

  • go to your doctor and ask him what might work best for your skin type.

  • For me personally I had the worst acne, it made me feel horrible and ugly. I didn’t shower or bathe for 3 or 4 days at a time sometimes more sometimes less. I tried a bunch of skin products right before bed, tried putting raw egg whites on my face (man that stuff is cold!). I would try them for weeks at a time but with little difference if any. I noticed that for a few days at crack I would be at home and in the kitchen a lot I would rinse my face in cool clean water every 20 minutes or so for long periods of the day, and that my face really cleared up. Also during the summer when I was at the beach a lot, I noticed that if for a week I went to the beach 4 times for 1 hour in the water each (my head had to be getting soaked) that my acne improved just tons! I now shower daily and wash my hair daily, and sometimes use a oil free product while in the shower on my face, neck and chest. If I don’t scratch at my acne, my face really clears up ! The most important things that I have learned from this is, water your face a lot, whether its going to the beach, or standing in the shower for half an hour, or splashing water on it periodically during the day. Also if you have long hair (like me) this long hair causes a lot of oil and that’s what causes the acne. So shampoo your hair daily as well to get ride of the oils. And never pick at a pimple! If you do remember to wipe away the clear liquid that comes out of the pour and wash that area with water.

I hope this helps you, its my life story up til now ^^

  • Marigold Gel for Acne

    Ingredients:
10 rose geranium flowers, with leaves and stems
    8 marigold (Calendula officinalis) flowers
    20 lavender flowerheads
    200ml water
    1 sachet vegetable gelatine
    5 tsp vodka
    20 drops tea tree oil

    Instructions:
    1. Roughly chop the flowers, leaves and stems of the rose geranium and place with the marigold flowers and lavender flowerheads in a large glass bowl.
    2. Bring the water to the boil and pour it over the flowers to make an infusion. Leave to infuse for 10 minutes, or until the water has taken on the colour of the flowers. Place the infusion, including the plant material, into a blender and whiz. Strain the mixture through a piece of muslin into a clean bowl.
    3. Now, in another bowl, dissolve the gelatine in 2 tbsp cold water. Gradually add the flower infusion, stirring to separate lumps. Add the vodka and tea tree oil, stirring until a gel is formed. Using a funnel, pour into a pot with a pump dispenser.

USE: Apply to affected areas 2 times a day, or as frequently as needed.
STORAGE: Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.
